JBY is committed to youth creativity!
Despite the many challenges film festivals faced during the pandemic of 2020 and still even now, JBY is dedicated to providing a positive platform for youth in the arts to showcase their talents through various mediums, including acting classes and comedy classes. We didn't close up simply because times got tough! Instead, we pivoted! We are excited about hosting an in-person live event in the spring of 2026 in New Jersey (the birthplace of JBY), where young artists can benefit from arts education and connect with industry experts. We strive for integrity in every program, production, and event we create, including our acting classes, modeling classes, dance classes, and comedy classes. The environment and culture we foster before, during, and after a program or production, such as our festivals, reflect this commitment. Integrity of spirit, character, and work ethic is required of every participant in a JBY event or activity, which is essential in our arts education initiatives and is supported by our dedicated team.
MENTORING
We believe in the African proverb 'It takes a village to raise a child.' Family engagement is at the core of JBY, which is essential to our performing arts programming and arts education, and all that we do. Everyone involved in a JBY production or program, whether in our comedy classes, acting classes, modeling classes, dance classes or working with our vocal coaches, shares a collective responsibility to be a supportive, engaged, and positive contribution in some capacity, especially during our annual film festival and children's festival.

We believe there's a difference between having talent and being anointed. JBY events, productions, and programs are covered under an anointing that goes deeper than just being talented in the arts. Our commitment to arts education and quality performing arts is reflected in the way we plan and produce all of our programming, including acting classes, comedy classes, and festivals. We carefully and thoughtfully prepare each event with this mindset, ensuring that our participants receive guidance from experienced teaching-artists and benefit from a truly enriching experience.

At JBY, we believe that having a spirit of grace, treating others with grace, and conducting ourselves with gracefulness is imperative to the success of everything we embark upon, including our traveling programs for children and our showcases for aspiring talent. Grace is something that brings people and communities together, rather than tearing them apart, much like the festivals we celebrate in the community. JBY is charged by positive energy in every area of the organization, from arts education to the festivals we host. We simply do not accommodate negative energy, ensuring a supportive environment for all.
